Vibratory feeder

A feeding device that uses vibration to move and separate tablets or capsules toward the counting unit.

Also called: vibrating feeder; vibratory plate; vibration feeding.

Does the vibratory feeder perform the tablet count?

The feeder moves and separates products toward the counting unit. The detector and its logic perform the count, even when feeding and sensing are integrated into one machine.

Assessing distribution and spacing before counting

Assess the stream through distribution, detection and stop/restart conditions. Relate those observations to independently checked bottle contents when evaluating how feeding affects the count.

  • At distribution: describe whether the intended paths receive product, rather than relying only on the total material leaving the hopper.
  • At detection: describe spacing and overlap in the presented stream; an apparently orderly upstream tray may not describe the sensing point.
  • After a stop and restart: identify the operating state shown in the observation. Do not present a selected steady-flow view as evidence for every state.
