Blister product-presence inspection

Inspection that checks whether a product is present in the expected blister pocket or location.

Also called: blister product presence check; missing product inspection; empty pocket detection; missing tablet detection.

Presence, identity and product condition

Presence inspection answers whether product is detected at an expected pocket or location within the system’s demonstrated capability. A camera check before sealing and an optional missing-product detector are possible configurations, not standard features of every blister line.

A visible object is not automatically the correct product, undamaged, correctly oriented or present in the required quantity. Specify which of these questions the proposed system actually evaluates. Do not convert an empty-pocket check into an identity or double-product capability without relevant evidence.

Tracking an empty pocket to the reject point

Define the affected unit: a cavity position, finished card or later carton. Locate inspection relative to lidding and cutting. When inspection occurs before sealing and the card is cut later, the detected position and final reject object need to be associated through the line.

Assess known occupied and empty positions and track the associated downstream outcome. Record detection, the reject command and confirmed removal separately. Presence inspection does not assess leak paths in the subsequently sealed package.
